Purpose Driven Vision

In light of your giftings, passions, experiences, vision, and in the context of the season of life you are in, how is God mobilizing you to move forward with the vision? What would you give your life for? And how are you creating healthy, sustainable rhythms to fuel this passion lest it morph into a religious obligation?
You do what you have to do out of obligation,
You do what you want from passion!
What is your purpose in this season of Life?
“But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth!” (Exodus 9:16)
Though Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us that there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven, there is also an overarching purpose for each person’s existence: The glory of God!
When we love the Lord with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves, and when we make disciples baptizing them and teaching them to obey everything that the Lord taught us, and when our lives are all about Jesus, we are the most alive! We were created to worship the Creator! Christ came to give us life and life abundantly and life is only found in Him when we abide in His love, behold His glory, and pursue His will. His love moves us to respond.
As followers of Christ, saved by grace, we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:8-10). Therefore, Paul urges us to live a life worthy of the calling we have received (Ephesians 4:1).
What is the calling you have received?
Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure (2 Peter 1:10). Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you (1 Timothy 4:14). Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets (Habakkuk 2:2).
We can live this life striving to obtain so many things that will one day perish, and can even lead people towards religious dead works. Often times we fill our lives with ministry tasks and find very little time left to connect with the Author of life. When this happens, we are in danger of burning out, because we aren’t staying connected to our Source of strength and power. We are also in danger of missing God’s plan and purpose for our lives and those we influence, because we are not sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Don’t be distracted by the things of this world that can so easily entangle. And as believers many times these distractions can have an appearance of good, but if it’s not in alignment with His will, then let it not hinder you from the purposes and callings God has for you and the impact you can make in light of eternity.
What is the vision the Lord has revealed to you?
Maybe the Lord confirmed a vision or a dream this past month at the Greenhouse Leadership Conference. Or perhaps you are still waiting to hear direction from the Lord. We must always start with God’s known will, and as we continue to seek and abide, to knock and ask, He will reveal His unknown will. What Has God already clarified for you in the secret place and what are you doing about it? What are you journaling about? What moves you to action? What is the vision you have for your own life, your family, your microchurch? What legacy do you want to leave behind? Compelled by His love, how are you moving the Kingdom of God forward?
How is God mobilizing you to move the vision Forward?
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize” (1 Corinthians 9:24-27).
What are some SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-based) Goals that you’ve set in place to help you move forward with the vision, and who are you raising up?
Fellow disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1) without wavering to the left or to the right, but rather fan into flame the gift of God (2 Timothy 6) that we may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given us- the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace (Acts 20:24) till we declare His power to the next generation, His might to all who are to come! (Psalm 71:18)
